Trick or treat!

Ebi nigiri won the "Puddle's 1st Halloween Costume" contest!

I had a lot of fun making this costume. I'm sort of dreading the day when she asks for a store-bought costume. I don't want to be a Halloween snob, some store-bought costumes are very clever. And I'm aware of the fact that most parents don't have A) the time, B) the resources, and C) the interest to make Halloween costumes for their kids. But because right now I have A, B, and C, I'm going to make the most of the fact that she can't choose her costumes for herself!

I recently watched a news clip about a Mom who challenged her kids to create their own costumes every year. The rule was that they could choose what they wanted to be, but they had to make or collect the parts to create the costume by themself. Mom bought the odd extra, like a pink wig, but otherwise they were not allowed to buy a pre-made, cookie-cutter costume.

I love that idea k8 - it sort of sounds like my childhood experience with Halloween costumes!

BTW: re-start your blog! I love seeing what you create.
